Information you provide
When you join the beta or create an account, we collect the information you give us directly, such as your name, email address, and the preferences you set inside the app (for example, quiet hours or the kinds of moments you want cues for).
If you contact support, we keep the correspondence so we can help you and improve the product.
Apple Music & MusicKit
With your permission, On Cue uses Apple's MusicKit to read your listening history, library, and music preferences, and to play music and display artwork. This access is granted through Apple's own permission prompt and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
Confirm with productDescribe exactly where listening data is processed (on device vs. server) once the implementation is final. Do not publish until verified.
Location
On Cue can use your location to learn the places that matter in your life: the ones you visit often, the ones tied to memories, and the rhythm of arriving and leaving them. It never asks you to label a place, and it does not decide that somewhere is your workplace or home. Location access is optional and controlled by iOS permissions you can change at any time.
Confirm with productState the precision used (precise vs. approximate), whether background location is requested, and how location history is stored.
Weather & contextual information
To understand the moment, On Cue combines signals such as local weather, time of day, and season. Weather information is retrieved for your general area and used only to decide whether a moment fits.
Calendar
If you grant calendar access, On Cue reads event timing and context to understand the shape of your day: for example, that a long week just ended. Calendar access is optional, and you can revoke it in iOS Settings at any time. Confirm with productSpecify which event fields are read and whether event content ever leaves the device.
On-device & cloud intelligence
On Cue's personalization is designed to run on your iPhone wherever possible. When a moment requires more capability than the device provides, On Cue is designed to use privacy-preserving cloud processing (such as Apple's Private Cloud Compute) rather than conventional server-side profiling.
Confirm with productThis section must precisely match the shipped architecture: which processing runs on device, which uses Private Cloud Compute or other services, and what data each path receives. Per ADR 0019, Private Cloud Compute is not implemented today. Do not publish until verified.
Device & app information
We collect basic technical information, such as device model, OS version, app version, language, and crash reports, to keep On Cue working reliably.
Analytics
We use aggregated, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how On Cue is used, such as whether cues are played, saved, or skipped, so we can make cues better. Confirm with productName the analytics provider(s) and whether identifiers are collected.
How information is used
We use the information described above to:
- Recognize moments and surface cues
- Personalize cues to your taste and rhythms
- Operate accounts, subscriptions, and the beta program
- Provide support and respond to requests
- Maintain safety, security, and reliability
Third-party services
On Cue relies on services such as Apple Music / MusicKit, Apple push notifications, and a weather provider. Each processes data under its own privacy policy. Confirm with productList the final providers with links.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as it's needed for the purposes described here, then delete or anonymize it. Confirm with productSpecify retention periods per data category.
Your choices & permissions
Every signal On Cue uses is behind a permission you control: Apple Music, location, calendar, and notifications are each granted through iOS and can be changed or revoked at any time in Settings. On Cue keeps working with whatever you choose to share. With less context, it simply cues less often.
Deleting your account & data
During the beta, you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at [email protected]; we remove your account information and learned personalization. In-app deletion arrives before public launch. Confirm with productUpdate with the in-app deletion flow and completion timeline once it ships.
Children's privacy
On Cue is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but minimizing what we collect is our first line of defense.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect, and update the date at the top of this page.
